Laurence is an experienced actor and all round nice bloke. He used to think being called a nice bloke was rather a backhanded compliment - damned with faint praise at best. Then he realised that the alternative was probably road rage or a small town pint and a fight mentality, swearing at the kids, invading other countries under false pretences, strapping homemade bombs to yourself and climbing aboard crowded buses, stabbing a teenager because of a cockeyed notion of r-e-s-p-e-c-t, robbing old folk for a fix, fiddling interest rates, mis-selling mortgages, running not robbing banks, raiding the pension funds of a nation, saying we're all in it together apart from the poor, avoiding the question... and so he thought being a nice bloke wasn't such a bad thing after all. And it's only an opinion.

He's been on television numerous times (nominated for Villain of the Year at the British Soap Awards 2012), in some films (many of which have won awards), on the radio, and trod the boards in critically acclaimed plays (some of which have won awards too). He's in a band. Narodni Trida. Kind of post rock instrumentals that have appeared on film soundtracks, book launches and arty happenings in Britain and NYC. Yeah, that's quite cool, isn't it? He's in another band with a rather filmic name, Boomshadow. He also does stand up comedy: "delighted the audience... his cock-eyed world view... was intelligent whilst ridiculous... very funny."
